We all remember The Great Gatsby, the masterpiece starring a memorable Leonardo Di Caprio, in which the carefree and gay – yet elegant and refined – atmosphere of the 1920s made us all dream.
How could the sparkling parties and balls amid orchids and champagne possibly not be an inspiration?
The world of events let itself be inspired by F.S. Fitzgerald’s novel proposing setting ups, bridal gowns, accessories and entertainments in perfect 1920s-style.
On a cold and rainy February evening at the Grand Hotel et de Milan, we organized a themed event, masterfully interpreting the style of the Great Gatsby.
The wedding planning world is full of themed parties, but this was one the likes of which had not been seen for a while in Italy.
Over 400 guests, featuring the most important names in the wedding industry, famous characters and future brides and grooms, participated in the event.
Literally everyone took part in the toasting in the magnificent halls of the hotel in Via Manzoni.
The elegant historical backdrop of the Grand Hotel et de Milan was the setting for exquisite chantilly lace, georgette and silk-satin pleated bridal gowns created by Alessandra Rinaudo, stylist and owner of the maison Nicole Spose; tailored suits by Pal Zileri; luxury lingerie and underwear by Agent Provocateur and precious, antique jewelry from the Gioielleria Pennisi.
The skillful hands of Aldo Coppola’s stylists and make-up artists took care of the beauty corner, while Jo Malone curated an olfactory corner with perfumes entirely dedicated to the bride.
The images and sequences of a night recalling by-gone times were captured by the famous photographers Carlo Carletti and Marco Schenoni’s team Nitrato d’Argento.
The beauty of the halls was accented by floral creations by SpazioFiori Milano, while musical entertainment by the group Dixieland and the Charleston dance performance set up by Enrico Martinelli of Ovunquemusica turned the event into a real party.
In other words, this dream event will certainly serve as a possible inspiration for the future brides and grooms who participated in it, to tie the knot in an elegant and refined way by drawing on the ambiance of the evening and, above all, by relying on the expert hands of the actors who set up this Milan-style,
Great Gatsby show.
