Katherine and Chris are a beautiful couple of Americans who live in London, desirous of getting married abroad in Italy. While they were looking for English wedding planners in Italy, they found me and I immediately took to heart their marriage project.
They are both lovers of good wine and Italy, where have been several times and in different regions, and so Piedmont seemed to be the perfect location for their wedding. In particular, the couple chose Villa Pattono in Costigliole D’Asti as the location to celebrate their amazing union. Katherine is Catholic and Chris is Anglican, but they opted for a Catholic ceremony, celebrated in a beautiful church just a few steps from the Villa.
The preparation of wedding reception in Villa Pattono was a real challenge for me. Katherine liked garden flowers and olive trees, so my idea was to alternate the centerpieces of round tables with garden flowers, lavender and small olive trees. I didn’t choose a single color for the preparation, but I preferred a mix of spring colors: white, orange, red, green, fuchsia and violet. I also tried to recreate a romantic and dreamy atmosphere, illuminating the entire location with small candles on the tables and romantic lanterns hanging from the branches of the trees. Even the beautiful outdoor dance floor was carefully lit with strands of yellow lights that let glimpse the beautiful panoramic view of the valley and the hills surrounding the Villa.
The choice of the menu for the reception was not easy, especially considering that Katherine and Chris are wine lovers and familiar with the Italian gastronomic products. So I thought a menu based on regional specialties: truffles, mushrooms, amazing beef and – obviously – precious wines. Even the wedding cake has been carefully thought out: a typical nuts and gianduja 3 layers cake.
In the final, Katherine and Chris decided to enjoy one of my Italy wedding packages so, in the days before and after the marriage, they spent their time in sightseeing, Vespa tours and cooking class in Alba, where they learned to cook the famous “Agnolotti del Plin”.
