A wedding in perfect American style, under the Tuscan sun: that is how I would define Heidi and Robert’s wedding. And an excellent inspiration if you are planning a wedding abroad in Italy.
When they contacted me to turn what they had in mind for their celebration into reality, the bride had already chosen the color palette: burgundy and carmine red would be a must – the way these shades splendidly married with the colors that tinge hills and vineyards in October was not fortuitous!
Once the couple had chosen the region where they would look for the ideal location to hold their wedding abroad in Italy, choosing the venue became quite straightforward: Heidi and Rob fell in love at first sight with Villa di Lilliano, a Medicean villa near Florence offering the style, facilities and services that suited perfectly what the couple needed for the reception they were planning.
To welcome and greet all guests on the evening before the ceremony, we opted for a typical dinner at a traditional Tuscan trattoria, which provided the opportunity to start getting in the right party mood in sight of the great day.
The main concern on the day of their “I Do” was, essentially, weather – an outdoor ceremony and reception on the 7th of October can certainly not be taken for granted. Luckily, though, despite a slightly foggy start of the day, the mist soon gave way to a warm autumn sun.
In the morning, the groom set with his friends on a trip to explore the countryside on board of a red GT Ferrari he had rented to relax pre-wedding adrenaline, while the bride started preparations for the great event while relaxing with friends and relatives, sipping the wines produced by the estate.
The ceremony was held on a terrace with a view on the vineyards and hills. The aperitif and dinner were held in the marvelous garden of Villa Lilliano, where a long rustic table was set at the center of the alley; its wooden surface matched with country-style chairs illuminated by small lightbulbs were the finishing touch to the magical, picturesque ambiance that only rural Tuscany can provide to a wedding abroad in Italy.
The live preparation of the nuptial cake, in which the couple also participated before the traditional cutting, undoubtedly contributed to make the evening all the more special and fun.
Inside the villa, the groom, bride and guests were welcomed by a band that, with their performance, provided music and entertainment until late at night.
The undeniable success of this wedding abroad in Italy was not only possible thanks to White Emotion’s commitment, but also and above all thanks to the splendid climate of cheerfulness and joy that filled the air. My heartfelt wishes to Heidi and Robert, may you share on each day you spend together the same love we saw in you on that marvelous mid-October day!
