A wedding in Verona immediately brings up to mind an “I do” pronounced on Romeo and Juliet’s balcony on Lake Garda’s wedding or in a majestic villa in Valpolicella. But Verona has a lot more to offer, and among its gems are the Palazzo and the Giardino Giusti, a romantic park at the heart of this oh-so-poetic city and its palace, the perfect combination and partitioning of interior and exterior spaces to suit any kind of need. And all but neglectable is the possibility of celebrating legally valid ceremonies here.
Beyond the front gate, a majestic cypress-lined boulevard leads to an ancient Roman fountain, where a marvelous view of the city and maze of perfectly-kept hedges can be enjoyed. The timeless art and nature will enchant you.
And it is in this romantic garden that Audry and Christopher decided to say their “I do”, crowning their dream in an afternoon at the end of June, allowing us to become their Wedding Planners for this important day.
Here, a precious grand piano playing in the background accompanied the most moving moments of the ceremony, which was held in the palace to guarantee the best acoustics and intimacy.
The couple’s portraits, taken in the splendid garden and in some of the city’s most romantic corners, like the Borgo Di Castelvecchio, followed the ceremony; we then moved to a famous restaurant in town, the veranda of which had been exclusively reserved for us and became the stage of laughter, dances, speeches and so much fun.
The menu was not a wedding’s traditional, but rather the restaurant’s specialty: tagliatelle with 3 sauces and mixed boiled meats!
Among other typical Italian touches was the wedding cake: the American cake was replaced by an Italian ‘Millefoglie’ with mixed berries and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
Featuring a hipster touch, this far-from-mainstream wedding was undoubtedly unconventional.
Enjoy this charming American couple’s gallery, that also appeared on Elle Spose magazine’s December 2016 issue.
