How Much Does an Amalfi Coast Wedding Actually Cost? A Real Case Study

Introduction

In my previous post,  General Costs of Getting Married in Italy, we discussed what to expect and why.

But as any destination wedding planner will tell you, the Amalfi Coast—and specifically towns like Ravello and Positano—is a world of its own.

Today, I’m opening the books on a real wedding I planned in the stunning town of Ravello. We are moving past the “estimates” and looking at the actual investment required for a high-end celebration on the coast.

If you’ve been dreaming of a cliffside ceremony, here is the “Chapter 2” deep dive into the numbers on how much a wedding in Amalfi Coast really costs.

The Wedding Profile:  Luxury in Ravello

To understand the costs, we first have to look at the scale. This wasn’t just a dinner; it was a multi-sensory experience.

  • Location: Ravello, Amalfi Coast
  • Guest Count:  80
  • Vibe: Sophisticated, “La Dolce Vita,” high-floral impact.

Breaking Down the Numbers: The Real Cost of an Amalfi Wedding

1. The Venue & Catering: The Foundation

On the Amalfi Coast, the venue often includes the “exclusivity fee” and the catering per person.

  • The Investment: €45.000
  • Why it costs this: You aren’t just paying for the area of ceremony and reception; you are paying for the view that people travel across the world to see. This price typically includes the rental of the villa and the accommodation on site.
  • Food and Drinks; The Investment: €125.000: a multi-course Italian feast, local wines, and the cake-cutting moment, open bar and the brunch on the day after.

2. Floral Design & Decor: Creating the Magic

We don’t do “simple.”Eventually we do minimal, but never simple.

  • The Investment: €30.000
  • The Breakdown: This included the ceremony arch, table arrangements, accessories and bridal bouquet. On the coast, logistics (transporting flowers up narrow cliffside roads) play a role in the pricing.

3. Photo & Video: The Lasting Memories

To capture the “editorial” feel of a Ravello wedding, you need specialists who understand the light of the Mediterranean.

  • The Investment: €21.300
  • What’s included: Full day coverage, drone footage (essential for  Ravello heights!), and high-end editing.

4. The “Extra” Moments: Entertainment

  • The Investment: €45.000
  • The Details: From the live music during dinner, the music at ceremony and aperitif and all the audio and lights equipment:  these are the elements that turn a wedding into a party.

5. Rentals: Customizing the Space

Since many historic villas are blank canvases, we often bring in specific pieces to elevate the aesthetic.

  • The Investment: €15.000
  • What was rented: In this wedding, we brought in chairs, Versace underplates and bread plates, chandeliers and custom linens to perfectly match our monochromatic color palette.

6. Hair & Makeup (MUA): The Editorial Look

For an Amalfi wedding, you need stylists who understand the Mediterranean climate (humidity and sea breeze!) and can deliver that “effortless” Italian chic.

  • The Investment: €5.300
  • The Detail: This  includes a trial and on-site styling for the bride, a “look change” for the evening celebration and services for the bridal party as well.

7. Transportation: Navigating the Cliffs

Logistics are the hidden cost of the Amalfi Coast. Because the roads are narrow and parking is non-existent, guest shuttles are a must.

  • The Investment: €20.000
  • The Logistics: Private Mercedes vans for guest transfers from Sorrento or Amalfi to Ravello, plus late-night shuttles after the party.

8. The Wedding Planner: Your Logistical Architect

On the Amalfi Coast, a planner is a necessity, not a luxury. From navigating local council permits for ceremonies to managing narrow-road deliveries, the planner ensures the day actually happens.

  • The Investment: €15.000
  • The Value: This covers the hundreds of hours of scouting, vendor negotiations, and on-site management of the “ombre” design and complex layout.
Total Investment

The final investment for this real-life Ravello wedding was € 327.600

While the Amalfi Coast represents a premium price point, the result is an incomparable experience that your guests will talk about for a lifetime. As your planner, my job is to make sure every Euro is allocated to the elements that create the most “wow” factor.
