The pandemic put a hold on countless wedding plans but it could not stop the inevitability to celebrate love on the grandest scale. Nothing short of star-studded bridal parties, half a dozen dress changes, fairytale venues and floral displays that could rival botanical gardens. 

From micro guest counts to society’s biggest social events, there is a style for everyone when looking at some of this season’s most talked about wedding celebrations. 

An Intimate Affair

Amidst the large-scale firework events, some celebrity couples decided to hold smaller, intimate celebrations. Ariana Grande and husband Dalton Gomez married at home in Montecito, California with just twenty close friends and family members. The singer walked down the aisle in a custom Vera Wang empire-waist, column gown. The dress was accessorized with a shoulder length bubble vail inspired by the design Audrey Hepburn famously wore in Funny Face.

Netflix star Lily Collins and husband Charlie McDowell also opted for a low-key event. The TV couple read their vows at Dunton Hot Springs in true boho fashion surrounded by waterfalls, forest grounds and mountains. Collins wore a Ralph Lauren lace design with a unique hooded attachment playing beautifully against the outdoor venue.

Niece of Princess Diana, Lady Kitty Spencer set the tone of dreamy Italian weddings in the eternally romantic city of Rome. The fashion model married fiancé Michael Lewis at the iconic Villa Aldo Brandini in Frascati, Italy.

Royal celebrations started with a dinner party at the enchanting Galleria Del Cardinale– think a petite Versailles complete with fountains and lemon trees nestled in the city center.

Grand floral archways peppered the venue as a live pianist set the romantic tone of the evening. Guests were seated at gold lined table settings with embroidered linens and hand written place cards. The night ended with a spectacular firework display for the books.

A multi-look wedding day is becoming increasingly popular for brides and Lady Spencer wore a total of five couture gowns throughout the three-day event. As the global ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, the designers created each dress including the Victorian inspired long sleeve, high neck gown with dramatic puff shoulders for the ceremony. The cathedral-length lace trimmed vail and bouquet of Sweet Pea perfectly complimented the interictally designed, regal look. It’s said this lace dream was inspired by both Lady Kitty’s mother, Victoria Lockwood and by Grace Kelly’s wedding dress from 1956.

Alexandre Arnault, son of LVMH Group President Bernard Arnault and Gèraldine Guyot, founder of the D’Estrëe celebrated their union twice this past year. The couple tied the knot in Paris over the summer and three months later, the moguls decided to reconfirm their vows in Venice.

The Italian nuptials began at Cipriani alla Giudecca in the lust worthy Belmond Hotel, the same location chosen by George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin for their special day. The venue is located on an island in the Venetian Lagoon where guests must arrive by boat.

In her Parisian wedding, Goyot wore a silk number by Lowe. However, the designer of her elegant long sleeve, high neck embroidered gown is still a mystery. Flower girls and page boys coordinated in cream and autumn orange accents.

Paris Hilton married husband Carter Reum in one of the biggest pop culture moments of the year. The grand event took place at the Hilton’s late grandfather’s estate in Bel-Air placing a new spin on back yard weddings.

Hilton hopped on the lace trend with a high neck, long sleeve bodice and full skirt by Oscar de la Renta for the ceremony. The exquisite design was accompanied with a simple bridal up-do and tulle veil. Hilton’s three reception dresses were custom made by designers Galia Lahav and Pamella.

After a decked-out city hall ceremony, the couple celebrated their reception in the San Francisco Getty mansion. It was a special location for Getty; it served as an ode to her grandmother who personally designed each room impeccably.

For the ceremony, Getty wore a layered tulle, art deco mirror gown by John Galliano who also designed the fourteen silvery bridesmaid dresses. Actress Lindsey Lohan is enjoying her engagement to Bader Shammas and ultimately plans to have two ceremonies, one stateside and another in Dubai.
