Setting the tone for the volume and sheer lavish festivities is our international celebrities. From A-list actors to Olympic athletes, the stars we love set out to say their vows making 2022 the year of celebrity weddings. With the last of the rescheduled Covid celebrations wrapping up, you can say it was the year to tie the knot.
Kardashian and Travis Barker
Perhaps the biggest event of the year was none other than the designer extravaganza staring Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. The Blink 182 drummer and reality mogul said, “I do” this past spring in Portofino at the incredible seaside villa, L’Olivetta. The ceremony was held at Castello Brown, as a 16th century castle only seems fitting.
Poosh founder wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana silky mini with a cathedral length veil embroidered with a floral design, the Virgin Mary and the words, “Family, Loyalty, Respect.” Barker stood at the alter in a D&G double breasted black suit.
A performance by Andrea Bocelli set the tone for a top tier, star studded evening. An incredible finale to the wedding week which started days prior with a welcome party and local sightseeing. The family stopped at Ristorante Puny and Abbey of San Fruttuoso for homemade pasta and more celebratory aperitifs.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez
The actors broke the internet and made romcom dreams come to life when Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reunited. It was seemingly too good to be true when the two decided to make it official by saying their vows this year. The three-day celebration began with a rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony at Affleck’s estate in Georgia. The Wedding Planner star, designed the event under the rustic country-chic theme surrounded by close friends and family. Lopez walked down the aisle in Ralph Lauren Collection, the first of three by the designer. Over one thousand silk handkerchiefs and almost five hundred meters of fabric were used in making her ethereal turtle neck column dress. A cascading, floor length veil completed the classic, romantic look.
Jim Edmonds and Kortnie O’Connor
The former professional baseball player and realtor said their vows at the iconic Villa d’Este in Lake Como. Being one of the most iconic hotels in the world, the estate was nothing short of immaculate peppered with lush white florals, a string orchestra and a post ceremony boat ride.
The ceremony was held overlooking the lake, followed by cocktail hour on the terrace and inside the historic villa for the reception. The Colonne Room paints the royal scene with marble floors, crystal chandeliers and fresco lined walls. Guests dined on traditional Italian favorites starting with zucchini blossoms and ended with a four tiered, rose embellished wedding cake.
O’Connor wore an off the shoulder sheer gown designed by Lee Petra Grebenau. The bodice featured lace floral appliqués with side and central cutouts.
Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz
A modern-day fairytale took place when Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz said, “I do”. The couple spared no expense making it one of the most expensive weddings of all time with 500 of their closest friends and family. The lavish celebration took place at the Peltz’s ocean front mansion located in Palm Beach, Florida. The world’s elite was in attendance with close friends such as Snoop Dog to Marc Anthony who gave personal performances. While the bride’s mega star, fashion designer MOH designed her engagement dress, Peltz wore Valentino Haute Couture for the big day. Another nod to Kelly’s iconic 1950’s wedding look, with handmade French lace gloves and delicate lace veil with a dramatic train. Beckham wore a Dior suit with an Anita Ko diamond lapel chain.
Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark
After replanning for when international Covid restrictions eased, the reality stars finally had their dream wedding in Rome. Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark opted for small, backyard nuptials in 2020 and the second, Italian celebration was just what the couple had dreamed. Schroeder wore an A-line, sheer tulle, off-the shoulder gown by Galia Lahav, one of two by the designer. The getaway started with a pasta infused bachelorette party followed by a welcome party for all guests at the Hotel de Russie the following day. The ceremony took place outside, under a floral arch overlooking the Roman skyline. Villa Miami served as the princess-like venue where guest explored the historic venue and danced the night away to the classics.
Naomi Biden and Peter Neal
On the South Lawn of the White House, Naomi Biden and Peter Neal tied the knot just before the holidays. For a historic event in almost a decade, the presidents granddaughter wore a Grace Kelly inspired, Ralph Lauren gown. The custom mock neck silhouette featured organza floral embroidery and divine cathedral-length veil with a Chantilly lace boarder. The all-day event continued with a presidential luncheon followed by dessert and dancing at the executive mansion.
Jay Ellis and Nina Senicar
Top Gun, Maverick star married actress Nina Senicar in the Tuscan hills this summer. Ellis sported a maroon, double-breasted Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo with silk trim, bowtie and suede shoes to match. Senicar wore a stunning strapless gown, featuring a structured bustier and dramatic slit also a D&G custom design. The ceremony took place at Villa Mangiacane among endless vineyards and olive groves. The movie star wedding was originally also pushed pack due to the pandemic and a long time coming for the A-list couple. The San Casciano celebration set in the most iconic Italian region, allowed for guests to cheers their loved ones under the Tuscan sun.
