THE VENUE

Meshaal and Salman are from Chicago with Pakistani roots, and since the beginning they knew they wanted an international destination wedding that family and friends would enjoy. Guests were traveling from all corners of the globe including the US, Australia, Europe and Pakistan.

Being in love with Italy, and ultimately chose Rome because of the beautiful venues, delicious food, history and activities for all ages, as well as ease of travel.

“Our focus was to highlight Rome’s natural beauty and share our love for the city with our guests. The venues we chose were unique and provided the perfect canvas to incorporate elements that helped us make our wedding a reflection of us.”

Meshaal and Salman hosted a Mehndi event, which was filled with dancing and performances on a Roman museum rooftop with a jungle/tropical theme.

“Our families made decorative trays for the Mehndi ceremony, an important tradition in Pakistani culture. And our friends also prepared dances to perform at our ceremony, a very involved DIY process! “

THE CEREMONY

The next day was our wedding day, and a string quartet played Bollywood music outside for our guests.

The ceremony was celebrated by a friend, who kept it very short and informal in the beautiful secret garden of the villa, overlooking Rome.

Due to the hot temperature, we kicked off the event with a long welcome drink and aperitif to have the ceremony at sunset.
Vows were exchanged in private during the first look, and this was one of the most emotional moment of the day.

THE DETAILS

Meshaal loved choosing the florals and décor at both events and seeing her vision come to life. Salman’s favorite wedding day detail was utilizing all the beautiful areas of Villa Miani including the secret garden for the ceremony, terrace for dinner, speech, cake cutting and interior rooms for dancing and photography
